"Casa Amarela" is in the hinterland of the Algarve, near Sao Bartolomeu de Messines, district capital is Silves - and is about 40km away from Faro. The Algarve is one of the most popular travel destinations in Europe, lots of sun, fresh air, stunning beaches and above all very friendly and relaxed people.
The interior is popular with hikers, mountain bikers and those who love and appreciate seclusion and nature. Reservoirs, waterfalls and hikes offer a varied flora and fauna.
The beaches in the south can be reached in about 20 minutes by car (or by train) - some are spectacular and above all varied. Sandy beaches near Tavira and rock formations near Lagos - absolutely worth seeing. The west coast can be reached in about 40 minutes, Carrapateira and other surfer hot spots offer a completely different atmosphere.
Monchique is worth a trip, or the "Caldas de Monchique" - Foia is the highest mountain in the Algarve and not only the way there is inspiring: cork oaks, ferns, enchanting impressions, wonderful smells, great light. A trip via Marmelete to Aljezur is definitely recommended.
Basically, a rental car is recommended, supermarket, bank, post office, pharmacy, market, etc. are in the next village - Sao Bartolomeu de Messines.
The house
“Casa Amarela” are actually 2 houses.
The large has 2 double bedrooms, a large bathroom with bath, shower and washing machine. There is a well-equipped kitchen (dishwasher, juicer, etc.) and a large living room with a sofa bed and a fireplace. The ceiling height in this room is approx. 4m, and there are also the originally preserved feeding troughs for pigs - the old stable.
In the living room there is a large, comfortable couch that can be folded out for 2 more beds.
Internet and Smart TV with German satellite TV available.
Adjacent is my little house. I'm happy to answer questions, tips, support, I know my way around the Algarve, speak different languages, can offer excursions and possibly a transfer from the airport - if desired, I'm also happy to offer tastings, vegan, vegetarian or otherwise.
Terraces on different levels and different seating are around the house, there is also a barbecue.
Under the very old Alfaroba (carob) trees, a bamboo bed invites you to sleep outdoors - with a view of the pool and/or the breathtaking starry sky - a very special experience.
The private pool measures 4 x 7 meters and cannot be overlooked.
From the sun loungers you can see nature, you might hear the neighbors' chickens or the bleating of the sheep.
The garden was laid out about 30 years ago - even then with the priority of giving space to native plants such as olive trees, yucca palms, cacti and succulents. Approximately 2,000m2 of botanical gardens impress with amazing uniqueness, bizarre formations - a paradise for garden lovers.
